Meet the Team
Lola is a first-generation Nigerian-American who graduated from the University of North Texas in the Spring of 2018. While at UNT she served as the president of the Nigerian Student Organization on the campus and was heavily involved in leadership for a few years. Lola is a serial entrepreneur. She is the founder and president of the The Hope For Us Charity. She also has a personal brand named, Omolade Enterprises with several smaller brands underneath, “Blessed Afrique Boutique,” “Auntie Lola’s Kitchen,” and “O.Lade Photography.”
She has a passion for philanthropy in Africa. She believes that God’s purpose for her life is to reform the countries of Africa. She once said, “Stop calling Africa poor. Africa is not poor. Parts of Africa are run poorly." With this statement in mind she believes that every child has the absolute right to live a healthy life and to be educated. Different experiences have inspired her to bring back change and that's what she plans to do. She believes that providing a better tomorrow with HOPE for today.
Chinemelu Elonu attended Texas A&M University-College Station, former draft pick of Los Angeles Lakers and current basketball player overseas. As much as he loves God, Family, and Friends, he has a strong admiration when it comes to helping others in any capacity, he goes by the common saying that, "One random act of kindness does many great things for the world." Being a part of Hope For Us Charity is considered an honor to him and this is just the beginning.
ESTHER I. ADEWUYI
Esther I. Adewuyi popularly known as Esther Crystal is an 18-year-old Blogger and Well – Being Motivator, who uses her Instagram as a platform to help people see the best version of those around them, their environment and themselves by expressing her own journey to be the best version of herself. Esther is currently studying to get her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Computer Information Systems student in Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia. Esther is on a mission to change the view of Nigeria and Africa as a whole by helping to improve the economy by reducing crime most especially fraud. She believes change can start from one person and would love for Africans to be more balanced around, take mental health more seriously and see the evidence of their hard work.
Uche is an American-born Nigerian from Birmingham, AL. She currently attends the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she studies Biology (Pre-med track), Chemistry and French. She is the founder and president of the Pan-African Coalition, a student organization that strives to unify Africans with the African diaspora through cultural and social awareness. She has a resounding passion for human betterment. When she was 8 years old she created a non-profit organization, now called the Maria Regina Foundation, that provides medical, scholastic, and youth empowerment and aid to rural villages in Nigeria. This all started from her motto “if I can help, why not?” and the fact that she strongly believes is a greater tomorrow for her country Nigeria and Africa as a whole. She also currently works with several charitable organizations in the US that focus on food and healthcare and plans on doing more. Uche is a major “people-person” so when she was honored with being the head of Internal Relations she happily accepted. As the H.O.D. of the Internal Relations department of the Hope For Us charity, she plans on using her passion for people and helping people to create a solid backbone for the organization to lean on.
Victor Ogunmusi is a Nigerian eqipped by the nature of his career to be a change agent and due to his passion for humanity, he's on the journey to becoming a Legal practitioner. He's driven and inspired for growth and development which has made him the head of writers department bringing a meaningful development to the department.
Chanel is a University of North Texas alumni, where she studied Anthropology. She is interested in politics and culture and wants to help make or change policy through research to help relieve social oppressions. Her focus is enthnography research which takes qualitative and holistic data to get a better understanding of the complex issues that penetrate today's world. Chanel hopes to make an impact in the lives of children through The Hope For Us Charity!
Bumem Chukwurah a Nigerian American born in Dallas, Tx, is pursuing to have a bachelor of science in Nursing and also obtaining a Masters in Medicine to become a Internal Medicine Doctor. While working as a nurse in home health, balancing school, and interning for multiple clinics as a medical scribist; Bumem uses her free time to volunteer at hospitals, food pantries, and homeless shelters to help out those who are less fortunate.
Tobi is pursuing a bachelor degree in biology with two minors in medical anthropology and chemistry. She is an aspiring future medical student and strives to contribute her part to bring compassionate healthcare to those who do not have access to it. Based on her experiences and upbringing in Nigeria, women and children’s health is a subject that she holds very dearly in her heart. She mentioned: “I want to utilize my knowledge in science to bring the service that once wish I had”. With that passion, Tobi is now the director of the healthcare department of the Hope for us Charity with single goal of reforming the health landscape in her homeland, Africa.
Omosude is an American born Nigerian based in Detroit, MI. She is a Registered Pharmacist and has a passion for helping people within her community in whatever aspect they may need it. Her commitment and service to her heritage keep her passionate about the work she does for the Hope For Us Charity within the Healthcare and Writing Departments, as well as, other cultural organizations. Extracurricularly, Omosude is a natural hair enthusiast, loves to create organic skin and haircare products and she enjoys dancing.
